Designed to recreate the warm, swirling, three-dimensional character of classic optical vibe circuits, UltraViolet delivers everything from subtle modulation and gentle movement to deep, psychedelic warble and dramatic vibrato.
Strymon has developed an entirely new vibe algorithm that carefully recreates the complex interaction between the lamp, light-dependent resistors, LFO shape and bias found in classic analogue vibe circuits. The result is a dynamic and expressive effect that responds naturally to your playing and delivers a rich, organic feel.
Three Vibe Modes
UltraViolet gives you three distinct ways to shape your sound:

Chorus – A 50/50 dry/wet mix for the deep, swirling character associated with classic vibe pedals.

Blend – A 70/30 dry/wet mix for a more subtle effect that retains more of your original guitar tone.

Vibrato – 100% wet for expressive, frequency-dependent pitch modulation and classic vibrato sounds.
Shape Your Vibe
The Low, Mid and High Bias settings provide three distinctly different tonal characters. Low Bias produces a pulsing, tremolo-like response, Mid Bias delivers a balanced vintage vibe sound, while High Bias provides a smoother, wider sweep that can venture into rich phaser and psychedelic territory.
The Speed and Intensity controls give you further control over the movement and depth of the effect, while the Volume control provides up to 4dB of boost when required. Strymon has also expanded the intensity range at slower speeds, allowing you to create deeper and more dramatic textures than traditional vibe circuits.
Modern Features, Vintage Character
Despite its vintage-inspired sound, UltraViolet is packed with modern features. It includes full MIDI implementation with 300 preset locations, USB-C connectivity for MIDI control and firmware updates, and an EXP/MIDI connection for expression pedals, external switches or MIDI control.
Stereo operation is supported through the TRS input and output, while the high-impedance, ultra-low-noise Class A JFET input provides excellent touch sensitivity, dynamics and feel. You can also choose between True Bypass and Buffered Bypass operation.
